Not to discourage anyone from reading further, but this may possibly be the worst 12 of 12 ever. My camera died, so half of these are camera phone photos. Also, before my camera died, I got exactly 15 minutes to leave the office in order to pick up a perscription and treat myself to a cooke (thanks Lori for the cookie gram!) and didn't realize I forgot my camera till I was on my way back. Oy, today was a mess. I'm honestly shocked that I even got 12 shots. Next month will be better...promise.

Oh, and check out Chad's blog for the 12 of 12 info and see all the other 12-vers.

6:50am - bought myself a jewelry armoire on clearance at Pier 1 yesterday while I was out with my mom. Score! I wasn't even looking and BAM, there it was. :-) Heavier than you can even believe; I'm shocked I was able to get it into the house and down the stairs.

7:38am - who says we don't have fall colors in California?

2:39pm - only break I got all day to walk down the street to Walgreens. This is a lamp post outside of the little pub next to Walgreens. Totally random wimsy in the middle of all that concrete and steel. Too bad it was on my camera phone and came out really washed out.

2:45pm - best cookies in SF. Hands down. Maybe best ever.

3pm - I miss the little fuzz butt, so I put the photo I took of her from a 12 of 12 forever ago as my desktop background.

3:14pm - You know when you're in a new relationship when every text on your phone is from your boyfriend...

5:59pm - Time for tennis shoes. Too bad I'm still not leaving.

6:31pm - ah, finally done. I spend way too much time looking at this hallway.

6:35pm - BART doors in action.

6:41pm - this absolutely cracked me up. I'm sooooo a Taurus. "When you park it, you park it." LOVE that.

7:35pm - You'd think this is some nice, little bistro or something, but NO, it's McDonald's in San Ramon. When did they start making it look all snazzy??

8:39pm - Do you know what this means?? I finally have Cable! And a DVR! Ooops, it's after 10pm now, gotta start watching my recording of Project Runway. Till next month!

12 October 2009 @ 10:28 pm

At least you can always count on me posting a 12 of 12, so you know you get at least one post a month from me.  There has been just absolute craziness between a short trip to see the Capt'n, packing for my move this weekend and the all around zaniness of my office and workload. OH! and Ray of Light is producing The Who's Tommy, which opens this weekend.  If you're in the SF area and want to see the show for free - all you have to do is sign up to usher/sell concessions.  www.roltheatre.com or email me at stephanie@roltheatre.com

Back to 12 of 12 - check out Chad's BLOG for more twelvers and all the details.

12:46am - working on the volunteer schedule for Tommy.

7:22am - up and ready to leave the house. Decided to take a pic of the current state of my room - lots of boxes. Furniture gone. So sad. :-(

1:57pm: Stuck inside all day.  Not by choice. Would have braved the new, cool, overcast skies to have been able to get away for a few minutes today. But, sadly, no such luck.

4:57pm: Still stuck. My co-worker brought me a little chocolate to say thank you for the extra help today that kept me inside and chained to my desk.

6:19pm: Back in the east bay. I always think of the cranes whenever I think of Oakland.  Still overcast - rain is on its way.  Hello fall.

7:07pm: Took a trip over to Pier 1. Interested in getting a bedside table that's both small, but can be used for multiple things - drawers for personal affects, a shelf for my laptop, and extra space for more storage.  I liked this one because the bottom shelf is fitted for wine bottle - would be a good three-in-one cabinet for my new smaller space.  Price is a bit...OUCH.

7:16pm:  This one wouldn't have as many uses, but it's soooo cute!

7:34pm:  Took another small jaunt over to Cost Plus. I like this one a lot, but it may be too large for the space I plan to put it in.  Grrr...decorating is HARD.

7:43pm:  These caught my eye.  I fell in love with Marzipan when I was in Toledo in April - none of the little shops in Spain had any marzipan like this.

7:47pm:  Oooo, liked this one too...unfortunately it's not for sale.  It was the cabinet in the woman's bathroom.  Dagnabit.

8:03pm:  Going a bit nostalgic with an old John Mayer CD.  Go ahead...laugh...he may be smarmy, but he's a damn good musician.

ok...and he's cute.

8:18pm:  Finally - DINNER.  A little stop off at San Ramon's Orient Express.  It's the best chinese...so much for soooo little. $5! This will feed me for three dinners.

Bonus shot!  Figured I needed to get in at least one self-portrait for the month. My favorite PJ shirt :-)

Happy how-the-hell-is-it-already October!

12 September 2009 @ 08:46 pm

Welcome to September's edition - check out Chad's blog for more twelvers.

It's an all college football 12 of 12 this month.  Go CAL Bears!

10:44am - Obligatory shot of Shelby.  She looks all emo because she knows I'm leaving. This is her watching me put my shoes on and get my purse together.

10:45am:  Making sure I have my tickets to the game.  UCB Bears vs East Washington Eagles.  Whoo!

12:32pm - Outside the student center.  The CAL drumline usually gathers first to perform for the crowds at the Bear's Lair.  I love how they line up their hats on the ground during their performance.

12:39pm - This is my friend Cory. It's his first CAL game.  That's my hat. The photo wasn't staged or anything.

12:40pm - I was just shooting whatever inside the campus pub while we waited for our hot dogs and fries, but I ended up kinda liking this shot.

1:57pm - Finally up at Memorial Stadium.

2:21pm - As a bandgeek, THIS is my most favorite part of going to the CAL games.  The band enters with so much energy and then you get the canon blast there in the middle and they quick step out into a "flying" wedge and the drum major runs out and leap-frogs over one of the band members at the front and then they start playing Big C.  It's soooo exciting!

2:24pm - The tubas are such hams.

2:34pm - Bears in the mist.

3:03pm - My season tickets some how landed me right, smack dab in the middle of a bunch of families with kids under 10.  The little girl next to us had the cutest little galoshes on.

5:36pm - Final score.  Cory said early on in the game, "These Eagles aren't welcome at Hotel California, are they?"  It's jokes like that one that make me keep Cory around.  Great rout. Can't wait to see our ranking next week!

5:39pm - Cory and me waiting for the stadium to clear...who am I kidding, I was waiting so I could watch the band's post-game show.

Is anyone else shocked that it's September?  Just wondering.

13 August 2009 @ 09:31 pm

Hoping to be in bed by 10pm - I've got 29 minutes to post this.  Let's hope LJ doesn't suck at uploading photos like usual.

I heart Chad and this project found HERE, don't mind me, I'm just in a crabby mood.

5:34am - waking up

5:35am:  View of my recently cleaned room.  It's cluttered for sure, but at least the clothes, shoes (most of them anyway), mail, junk, etc has been picked up, tossed out or put away.  Additional vacuuming and dusting and my roommates probably thought I had invited the queen over.

11:09am:  Running an errand on Caifornia between Davis and Drumm streets.  This is where the California/VanNess Cable Cars line up before taking off.

11:18am:  New sculptures appeared on Front Street between California and Sacramento right next to the Walgreens a couple months ago.  Not sure what the point is except the street beggar had to find a new corner.

11:20am:  Heading back to my office.  There are always pretty pink flowers in these flower pots.  This is also when I realized that I'd failed to grab some lunch while I was out, so I snuck into the little cafe to the right.  They're expensive and slow and the food isn't great, but it's location is quite convenient.

11:31:  Took 10 minutes to get a pre-made sandwich and a salad.  I was the only customer.  I don't understand why they're so slow, but the food LOOKS good, doesn't it?  It wasn't so great.  It's a ham and brie sandwich, but there was A LOT of brie, so I was feeling a little cheesed out by the end of the meal.

5:32pm:  Exiting the Walnut Creek BART station.  Gotta love the Mt. Diablo view - pretty much doesn't matter where you are in the area, it's always looming all magnificent in the distance.

5:33pm:  Opposite viewing direction from the last photo.  Augh, the bain of my existence - Bay Area Rapid Transit.  Stupid unions going on strike next week - what the F do the commuters do??  You're already making over $100,000 to sit and let a computer run the train, why the hell are you arguing over a 3% raise when there are thousands of people in our area that would kill to have that kind of job at the moment.
Selfish, greedy, awful unions.  The strikers should be ashamed of themselves.

5:36pm:  Continuing on my walk through Walnut Creek.  Have you ever really noticed how GINORMOUS stop lights are?

5:40pm:  End destination for my walk.  My car is siiiiiick and they can't figure out what's wrong with it.  It's running, but just not well.  Going back in tomorrow actually.

8:45pm:  Actually had an interesting evening. I drove into Pittsburg to attend a committee meeting for my 10-year high school reunion. I just forgot to take any photos.  This is on Highway 4 - Westbound.  The sky looked so ominous. And although this is blurry, I still really like it.

11:38pm:  End of the day. Typing up notes from the meeting to email to the committee.  Don't you like my striped PJ pants?  Gap on sale.  Look at how there's already a dresser drawer open with clothes trying to escape in the background...

OKAY - it's now 10:02pm. I'm late, but not tooooo bad.  Good night!

12 July 2009 @ 11:11 pm

Yea! It's another edition of 12 of 12.  I totally look forward to this all month and I get really excited when the 12th falls on a weekend so you lovely people person can enjoy photos from outside my office.  Today was so jam packed that I think I have more photos to choose from for this edition of 12 of 12 than any other 12 of 12 I've ever done.

Sooooo, without further ado, (further or do?)...here we go...check out Chad's blog for more twelvers and the explanation behind this whole shabang.

10:01am:  The, "Oh shit, I just remembered it's 12 of 12" shot.  Waiting for my mom to pick me up to go to the Alameda County Fair.

11:31am:  I like the collections exhibit. However, some don't really seem super creative to me. Like this one - Sugar Packet collection.  None of them were very exotic or different - there's one from Denny's up front for goodness sakes.  Nothing from out of the Bay Area except for a sugar packet from the Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite.  I give this "First Place" collection a big WHATEV.

12:25pm:  I just thought this was a good capture.  This little girl was giggling up a storm every time her mom leaned her stroller car back like that.  I wanna ride around in a stroller car.  :-(  My mom said I was too big.

12:31pm:  Taking a breather at the livestock auction.  Poor little piggy.

12:40pm:  My mom talking to the goat.  They had a "connection."

12:44pm:  Three little piggies.

12:44pm:  I couldn't help but take a photo of the one pig's hoof totally grabbing the other pig's ass.  Well, it looked that way.

1:19pm:  Horse races. We didn't bet but my mom was pretty lucky at picking the winners.

4:42pm:  On my way into the City to see Jess one last time and help her pack up some of the last stuff.  Yes, I was driving and taking photos.  What? It was a camera, not my cell phone.  Totally still within the rules of the law.

5:41pm:  NoLa = New Orleans, LA.  Kitchen Shit. I told Jess that it was self explanatory labeling.

8:05pm:  Then the boys came home from a day spent at the Indian Casino. Lance (standing in the back) needed a Band-Aid (T) and brought out his new rainbow colored bandages.  We all took one and the posing began (this one is in Lance's bathroom).  This is the shot we all agreed we'd used if we ever formed a band. We just need a good band name.  The Gandages (mix of the word gay (because they're rainbow colored!) and the word bandages) is the only thing we thought of, but we're taking name suggestions.

9:40pm:  One last hug :-(  We got a lot done.  Jess, don't forget I'm you're only friend that helped you pack!!  I'm such a rockstar friend, I can't believe you'd ever want to leave me.  :-(  You're fired.  Again.  But not really. Cause I need a place to stay when I come to New Orleans.  So I re-hire you.

13 June 2009 @ 07:57 pm
Welcome to the tardy June edition of 12 of 12.  Last night was a very late night, so I didn't have the energy to post these when I got home.   Check out Chad's blog for other twelvers and why we do this.

12:52pm - Yeah, I kinda forgot it was 12 of 12. Didn't take any photos till halfway through the day.  This is my $20 ring from Target. I got it last February to go with a dress I was wearing to a wedding.  I get THE MOST compliments on that ring than any of my other jewelry.  Gotta love Target.

2:31pm:  My co-worker's desk.  I was looking for a paperclip and when I opened the drawer it was like being hit by a wonderful, fruity, childhood smell.  It was her Orbit gum - Maui melon mint. I totally stole a piece.  hehehehe

6:28pm:  Went to a BBQ in Walnut Creek where my friends Kelly and Troy were visiting for a wedding. They invited me and old roomies Lindsay and April for some BBQ and drinkin' fun.  I knew there were going to by oysters, i just didn't realize there would be THAT many oysters.

6:28pm: Troy trying to shuck the oyster.

6:36pm:  Troy is really good at prepping the oysters.  It took less than 10 minutes to go from the ice chest and into my tummy.  SLURP. YUM.  Love oysters.

7:13pm:  Maritime boys, Eric, Cap't Dave and Troy with Kelly.

7:14pm: I just realized that Kelly is in both of these photos. Photo Whore!  haha.  Me with Kel, April and Lin.

7:35pm:  How we roll: college cup with wine, PPR and a bottle of champagne.  There's always enough booze at a maritime boy party.

7:58pm:  April demonstrates how small the space is that these trees have to grown in under the low balcony.  Troy called them the "Trees of No Hope."

9:26pm:  April is corny.

10:20pm - This is the correct orientation.  Lindsay really is leaning out over me at that angle.

10:25p - Now things are getting saucy.

10:25pm - EXTRA PHOTO. I just love Kelly's reaction when she realizes we're messing with her ass.

Had such a great night with my old college friends, I hardly even mind the hangover.  :-)

Hey! Guess what? I'm back from Europe!  Hey! Guess what?  I've been sick as a dog and I have NO VOICE at all.  I had a concert tonight with the Blackhawk Chorus and I had to concede my solo for "Someone to Watch Over Me" to someone else because I absolutely couldn't squeak out even one note.  I'm so frustrated.  I haven't had the energy to blog at all or even respond to some emails (sorry friends!), BUT I couldn't forget to do this month's 12 of 12.  I've gone through a box of tissues today but by God, I WILL post 12 of 12!  ( I did post some of my fav europe photos to my flickr site - SEE HERE - so check 'em out if you want)

Enjoy this month's photos and check out Chad's blog for the backstory and other twelvers. :-)

6:21am - my Europe backpack is finally empty, but there's still lots to put away and organize from my trip.  My room looks like it threw up souveniors.

6:51am:  Castro Valley Bart Station Platform heading towards San Francisco.  It's kinda a nice view and the weather has been sunny and mild but you can feel that the East Bay heat is coming...

8:18am:  My FIRST cup of tea for the day.  I think I had like 20.  Still no voice.  Boo.  But, GO BEARS!

10:30am:  Off on a work-related errand.  Waiting at the F-line stop on Market at Main Street.  I love how the Ferry Building sits at the end of Market Street.

11:17am:  It may be touristy, but Pier 39 really is quite pretty.  I love all the colors and the sailboats in the background.  I pretty much only come here when I'm on errands for work or have a craving for Bubba Gumps, but I remember how much I loved coming here with my family on day trips when I was growing up.  Maybe that's why I ended up going to college in the City.

11:20am:  Just missed the F-line back and I didn't feel like waiting so I decided to walk it and stop by Safeway on my way back to the office.  Of course there was a car going the OPPOSITE direction...

1:09pm: Ginger root.  Delena swore that hot water with pieces of ginger and lots of honey would miraculously bring my voice back.  I'm glad she reminded me to take off the peel/skin/whatever it's called.

1:09am:  D, did I put in enough ginger??  The tea looked odd but it tasted pretty good (could have been all the honey), but unfortunately my voice is still gone.

3:17pm:  Round two for work errands. This one took me to one of those souvenior t-shirt shops along the wharf.  I snagged this photo while waiting in line. It's a onesie that says, "I'm what happened in Vegas."  Classy.  :-)

3:42pm:  I needed to be back downtown by 4pm to catch BART home in time for my concert.  Luckily I got a street car right as it was taking off.  MUNI is mixing in a bunch of SUPER OLD trolley cars with the newer street cars on the F-line.  Here's a shot of the inside.  I didn't catch which country this one came from, but the one I took earlier in the day was from Melbourne, Australia.

9:32pm:  I didn't get any shots at the concert tonight - I thought it would be a bit tacky if one of the singers (even though I was lip synching the whole time) took out a camera and took some photos from the risers.  So I went home to eat soup and do what I do every Tuesday night after choir...

9:33pm:  ...watch Adam Lambert wipe the floor with the other American Idol contestants.  I mean, C'MON!  How awesome is he?!?!?  Looooooove.

If I promise myself that i'll be in bed by 11pm do you think my body will reward me with the return of my voice in the morning?  Well, it's worth trying I guess.  :-(   Night.

P.S. I promise...photos and stories from Europe coming shortly.  Stay tuned.

12 April 2009 @ 10:14 pm

Welcome to this month's installment of 12 of 12.  Check out Chad's blog for the history as well as this weeks twelvers.  Happy Easter Eggs!

8:49am:  Easter mass music program...there were a lot of Alleluias today.

11:11am:  Most people watch the Ten Commandments or the Sound of Music on Easter...I think I'll start a new tradition of watching Sex and the City.  LOVED that movie.

11:49am:  This is known as "church hair."

12:33pm:  P-town!  Main road up into the residential hills. There are neon green hills here too.

12:50pm:  Backyard Creatures Photo#1 - Garden Lizard.

12:51pm:  Backyard Creature Photo#2 - Casey the Monster Dog.

1:32pm:  Decorating eggs with my Dad

1:58pm:  My mom, teaching me how to make deviled eggs.

2:07pm:  My masterpieces.  We had chubby eggs and the little cardboard decorations wouldn't fit, so they sort of looked like Rambo Eggs.

3:07pm:  Went to visit Nani at the nursing home.  My aunts got her that Bunny.  It sings Brickhouse (or some other song that requires the white-man's-overbite dance moves) and the ears swing up and down to the beat.  Cute...wonder how long that will last before the nurses take it and toss it so they don't have to listen to it anymore...

8:23pm:  Enjoying too much wine at dinner means I forget to take photos of the pretty table or all the guests.  I took these as people were leaving.  I said "smile," and for some reason my brother and sister decided to pick up/show off the sugar cookies that were on the dessert plate.  Then they put the cookies back after their dirty fingers were all over them.

8:24pm: The parental units.

Sorry to be short and sweet tonight, but I'm tired and need as much sleep as I can get since this week seems pretty daunting as I try to prepare for my two-week vacation starting this time next week.  Lots to do and people to see before I go and not a lot of time to do it all in.  Breathe....breathe...Italy in T-minus SEVEN DAYS!!!!!!

12 March 2009 @ 08:56 pm

It's that time again.  I love 12 of 12.  Check out other twelvers and the story behind it all on Chad's site.

7:52am - Catching up on the blogs I read while on BART.

9:25am - A form of "Cuss Jar."  I've been keeping track of every time I swear per my Lenten Promise.  Right now I owe....a lot.  Two more weeks!

11:23am:  Every time I see a return to sender stamp, it reminds me of the Elvis Presley song.

12:55pm:  Went shopping at Baby Gap for some goodies for a friend I'm seeing this weekend.  Isn't the monkey adorable?

1:00pm - Then I stopped by The Toaster Oven for lunch while I was in the Embarcadero.  I really wanted Chili, but didn't feel like making the walk over to Sacramento Alley.  Mental Note - bring black flats back to the office so I don't have to wear my heels out when I walk around at lunch.

1:02pm:  I love the spiral staircases in the Embarcadero Center.

5:30pm:  Random, I know.  There's always some new art project or sculpture in the lobby of my building.  This thing is sort of a combo of wood and cardboard and it GINORMOUS.  I think it's a Star Wars themed art project.

6:27pm:  Had to give my mom some stuff, so I parked at Walnut Creek BART and she met me there.  This is the 5th floor/top floor of the parking garage at the Walnut Creek station.  It overlooks Mt. Diablo.  Two thoughts I had while taking this photo:  First of all, it's still bright outside and I'm on my way home - AWESOME. Second of all, this is where you have to park if you don't get to the garage before 7:30am.  The top floor of a huge, five-floor parking structure.  BART really needs to fix the parking issues at their stations.

6:44pm - A couple of lights from home. I still can't believe I was home before nightfall.  I LOVE the time change!

6:48pm:  When I walked in the door, Dan yelled down the stairs, "Who's there?!?"  And I said, "Um, ME.  Who else would it be???"  "Oh," he said, "You're never home this early."  I looked down and Shelby was staring up at me like this.  It's nice to know that someone else besides me loves that I'm home early.

7:05pm:  Last bit of light.  I've never noticed how cool our backyard porch light looks.

8:53:  Just  a little bit of Top Model off the DVR before I knock myself out with cough syrup and try to get a decent nights' sleep.  I love me some Ms. Jay.

Happy 12 of 12!

12 February 2009 @ 10:42 pm

Hey - the new year didn't get off to a great start by missing January's 12 of 12, but I think I got a couple of cool, interesting shots this month.  Enjoy - and check out Chad's blog for other 12-ers.  Click on each photo to see a larger version.

7:14am - Taking Shelby to the doggie day camp in Castro Valley.  She's looking out the window like...I KNOW where we're going, can we GO ALL READY???

7:21am - Club K-9 is where we take Shelby when we've been too busy to exercise her as much as she needs.  She's able to run and play for hours and hours and then she comes home and crashes.  As soon as I round the corner onto the canyon road she goes nuts and as soon as I open the car door she bolts inside the gates like she owns the place and I stand there waving like a parent that's just realized her baby doesn't need her anymore.

7:34am - Fillin' up.  I liked the composition and tire marks.

1:04pm - I forgot my camera when I left to get lunch.  Too bad too because there was this man feeding the pigeons scraps from his sandwich in the Sacramento Alleyway of the Embarcadero Center - it would have been an awesome shot.  Instead you're stuck with a photo of what I ended up getting - Chili Up's Chicken and Corn.  Good, warm chili on a chilly day.

5:37pm - Getting artsy while I wait for my train.

5:39pm - I like the blurry BART shots.

7:58pm - I met Cory for dinner and some good catchin' up at the newest Chow Restaurant in Danville.  I used to love to go to Park Chow in the Sunset when I lived in San Francisco.  This one is a bit overpriced and not as charming as it's counterpart, but eh, we ARE in the suburbs.

8:14pm - It's been almost a year since I last had Chow's awesome ginger cake with pumpkin ice cream and drizzled caramel sauce over the top. mmmm

8:30pm - mmmm.  Ginger Cake.

8:48pm - The tuckered out pooch next to the fire.  She's the only dog I know that likes to roast herself until we force her to move for fear her fur will combust.

8:58pm - just bought these tickets on Tuesday and they already arrived.  They're for CCMT's production of Evita in Walnut Creek.  My cousin Jimmy is in the show so Laura, our cousins and I are going to support him (or embarass him...depends on how you look at it).

10:37pm - I didn't get a great shot of me waking up this morning (aka - i looked like crap), so you're getting a just before bed shot of me with my new haircut.

Hope everyone is having a good week - come check out Ray of Light's newest show, "I love you, you're perfect, now change," this weekend if you're in the area.  www.roltheatre.com

26 December 2008 @ 04:53 pm

I embarked on the 12 of 12 project back in March, and I surprisingly remembered to take 12 photos on the 12th day of every month except for May.  I blame it on my birthday.  There was just too much to do surrounding my birthday to remember to take photos.  Or maybe I was charging my camera and left it charging when I went to work.  Yeah, that sounds about right.  Anyway, here's a recap of the best of my 12 of 12 (all 9 months).  I'm aiming for all twelve months in 2009.  I encourage all of you to join me - it's FUN!  And check out Chad's blog - he's the reason we do this.

15 December 2008 @ 10:54 pm
It's 12 of 12 for December!  Happy holidays! I went to a holiday concert with Jessica and forgot my camera at her house where we were getting ready; so the photos of the concert are from Jess' camera phone.  Thank you Jess for putting up with me telling you, "We have to take a picture!" every 5 minutes.  :-)

7:09am - my packed bag.  Only running about 10 minutes behind.

7:16am - Pea soup in the neighborhood.

8:56am - from one of the windows in the office - there's supposed to be a bay behind Sts Peter & Paul Church.

12:11pm - Grabbed lunch with Devin at Chevy's.  I was talking about something random, probably about work, and he interrupts me and says, "I'm sorry, my mind just went to a dirty place."  I was so confused for a second because nothing I said could be misconstrued as dirty, but then he showed me the drinks menu.

12:59pm - Big, red balls outside my office building.

3:53pm - We got a Harry & David's gift basket.  It only took me a couple of hours before I really started craving a pear.  The one on the bottom right in the brown-ish paper was soon in my tummy.

7:11pm - dinner with Jessica in Potrero Hill.  SUCH good pasta.  Maybe I'll remember the name of the restaurant...or maybe Jess will just comment and remind me.  Again.

9pm-ish:  The start of the camera phone pics

After one glass of champagne:  Alice 97.3's Holiday Concert - Sarah & Vinnie's Green Christmas.  Headliner was Alanis Morrisette, but I was there for Sarah Bareillis.

After two glasses of champagne:  Hard to tell, but that's Ingrid Michaelson.  Yes, the "I'll buy you Rogaine, when you start losing all your hair" girl.

10:30pm-ish:  Sarah B singing Gravity.

After three glasses of champagne:  Me, trying to look cute.  My left hand, the one you can't see, is holding that third glass of champagne.

Hope you all enjoyed this edition of 12 of 12 - don't forget to check out CHAD'S site for more twelvers and more info on 12 of 12.

8:34am - Remembered it was the 12th and immediately took a picture of what I was doing.  Reading Bossy.

8:35am - Then I took a picture of my little collection of post its and notes and Cal things.  The block letters say MATH.  Although sometimes they say HAWT or WHAT depending on my mood.

8:36am - My MP3 player sucks.  The battery won't stay charged and it often tells me that it's memory is full when i KNOW there's still room left.  The only thing I still like it for is the FM tuner so i can listen to the Sarah & Vinnie Morning Show on Alice.

1:27pm:  Long meeting made me take a late lunch at my desk.  But at least it was yummy tomato soup.  Also looking at Pioneer Woman's Flickr page.

4:12pm - The sun sets so early now.  Gorgeous skyscape from our conference room; too bad I couldn't get the glare from the office to go away.

5:30pm - Walked over to Chipotle at Market and 2nd to help one of the analysts get the office dinner.  Mainly it was so I had an excuse to get out of the building for the first time since I arrived there in the morning.  They also scored me a burrito bowl.  Sweet

7:14pm:  Returned a call from a guy that I met on Halloween and we decided to go meet up in North Beach so he could eat dinner and I could get dessert.  This was at the corner of Clay and Sansome on my walk from my office to Columbus and Jackson.

7:58pm:  mmmm, polenta.

7:58pm - hadn't been to Caffe Macaroni since Kelly, April, Lindsay and I went there in college and discovered the bar/club Kell's across the street.  That's how I met Captain Dave.  When my date suggested this place it made me laugh at the memory of us four girls splitting bottles of wine and then somehow dancing with sailors by the end of the evening.  I think I've mentioned that story a few times here - I guess it's just a fun memory.  :-)

8:58pm - mmmm, gelato.  This place was so cool.  They encouraged us to try everything.  Plus, they put cool items in the gelato tub so you know what it is.  Pumpkin = pumpkin.  Coconut = coconut.  Get it?  Ok, just checking...

9:44pm:  Barting it

11pm:  Home and getting my Top Model fix.

11:01pm:  Maybe not...I'm soooooo sleepy.

OKAY, just in under the wire today for Nablopomo.  Hope you enjoyed 12 of 12, even if it is late (so I threw in a 13th shot for being late).  Check out Chad's link HERE for other 12-ers.

I wasn't sure how this month's 12 of 12 would turn out.  It's a Sunday and I, for once, had nothing planned and that's how I wanted to keep it.  Laura and I did as much wedding stuff as we could yesterday and I called my mom to make sure she didn't need me to do anything today.  I was off the hook and thus what you see below is what today turned into.  And I loved it.

Thanks to CHAD for starting this whole project - check him out as well as other twelvers HERE.

8:10am - waking up to my alarm clock that i forgot to turn off.  I figured I'd sleep just a few minutes more and then get up to go to the early mass at 9am instead of the 10:30am mass.  I fell asleep and didn't wake up again until 10:15am.  Figured it was God's way of telling me that I needed to sleep and that I could catch up with him again next week.

10:46am - A little Soup with my breakfast.  I love Joel McHale.

11:10am - Shelby Roo is SOOO over the E! network and would like to watch Animal Planet.

11:20am - Working on Ray of Light volunteer coordinating stuff.  By the way - anyone want to see the Musical version of Rocky Horror Show for free??  All you have to do is help me out by ushering (taking ticket stubs, passing out programs) prior to the curtain.  Anyone??  Hello?

12:16pm - Lunch.  Goldfish, water, bberry, and a little marathon on SoapNet called "General Hospital: The NIGHT SHIFT."

12:17pm:  Shelby is sick of my bad TV choices and goes to take a sun bath nap.  I avoid the urge to go join her.

2:36pm: My first jaunt outside.  I needed pot pies from Safeway.

2:57pm: Saw this car as I was leaving Safeway.  Love the witch legs sticking out of the back.

5:41pm: Lyndsey is making a Persian meal for Dan, his parents and me.  Gotta love the Betty Boop on a Harley apron.  Lyn is a bit badass.

6:10pm: Still waiting for the food, Dan's mom and I crack open a bottle of Je'Taime from Westover Winery that I bought this summer during Keith's birthday celebration.

7:12pm: Finally time to eat!!

10:10pm: Ready to post and do a bit more ROLT work.  Seriously - who's available to usher???

So I'm a LITTLE late for the monthly 12 of 12, but I didn't have computer access in NY and I was pitifully sick throughout the weekend (still am actually).  I won't even bother letting Chad know, but if you want to learn about 12 of 12 or check out some other people's entries, check out Chad's Project.

6:30am - Standing in the JetBlue bag check line.  One of my bosses gave me these cute leopard print ID tag and luggage handle cover as a gift before I left so I could locate my luggage easily.  So very thoughtful.

6:40am: Heading to the security check

7:00am - While I was wasting time purchasing the latest People magazine, Clair beat me to the gate.

Sometime between 7:25am PST and 5:00pm EST.  - Snack time.

Same time - Watching really bad direct TV for six hours.  I kept switching between MTV's Real World Hollywood marathon, VH1's "I Love the Millennium" and whatever was on TLC and Bravo.  Yeah, that's right, I was watching four different channels.  I'm talented that way.

5:15pm EST - My first Stromboli.  Why don't they sell those in California.  It's basically a small Calzone...but yummier.  Jarys, the glasses shot is for you of course.

5:30pm EST - Downpoured all the way into the Bronx

6:00pm - Snack time at the McDevitt's.  They actually have a milkman.

6:30pm - No, it's not happy hour.  This is the stocked liquor cabinet; lots of Jim Beam.  It was pretty impressive.

7pm: Pelham pizza

8pm-ish:  Baxter the wonder dog.

11:53pm - Steph meets Steph.

13 August 2008 @ 10:20 pm
A day late posting, but at least I took all the photos on the 12th.  Hopefully CHAD won't mind :-) CHeck out his site and participate next month if you think it's cool.

I got a late start.  I had a dentist appointment and didn't feel comfortable breaking out the camera while Dr. Young was looking at my teeth.  Even if he is a cutie.  Did I just say that?  Anyway, got to work and forgot about taking photos until almost lunch time.  Decided since I wasn't doing anything super cool like for the last 12 of 12, that I'd try to be different and take all macro shots.  At first it was easy, but then...not so much.  But at least I tried.

11:43am - goodies from the dentist.

4:54pm - trying to make it through the last part of the afternoon with this...

4:54pm - and this

6:28pm - Why do I have so many keys?  Car key, house key.  What's everything else??  Office key, parent's key, aunt's key, mailbox key,   Hmm, maybe I need to figure out what the others go to.

7:04pm -  Only four minutes late for my audition.  Blackhawk is pretty, and the houses are huge, but damn it's hard to find your way around. (not a macro)

7:04pm - my audition piece for the Blackhawk Chorus.  Hard, but pretty.  And it seemed to do the trick because I'm IN!

8:27pm - bad macro shot of the mail.  Now that my roomies are off on their honeymoon I'm totally the mail girl.  Mail Lady.  Person.

8:28pm - non-macro shot, but I thought it was interesting that there are three pairs of flip flops at my front door and ALL of them are mine.

8:50pm - Does any one else's DVR recording page look like this? (also not a macro)

8:53pm - I was so hungry that I forgot I wanted to try to get a macro shot of my pasta.  Opps.

8:55pm - SO, I treated myself to some donettes JUST so I could get the macro food shot.  I swear, that's the only reason.

9:40pm - Talking to Reepicheep.  It had been weeks since we talked!  Also not a macro...hey! I told you it was a hard idea to implement.

After that I went to bed, which is why there was no downloading yesterday.  Now it's 11pm and I MUST go to bed.  I feel like that's all I ever do nowadays.  Wake up, go to work, work too late, come home, eat dinner at 9pm and then try to get to bed before 11pm.  Sigh.

Whoo!  What a weekend.  I'm so tired I fell asleep while all my photos were downloading!  So while this may be posted on July 13th - these were all taken July 12th for the 12 of 12 project on Chad's website.   Enjoy and I promise more photos on Flickr tomorrow...I mean, today...just later.

12:30am - A platter of pickles at the Healdsberg Bar and Grill right after Mark and Bella's wedding.  There was also beer, pizza and I ordered myself the "very adult mac n' cheese."  Not sure why I didn't take a photo of that.

9:30am - Weekend roomies, Clair and Marilyn.  This was the view outside our little cottage at the Shelford Inn B&B in Cloverdale where we stayed after Mark and Bella's wedding.

10:15am - Breakfast at the B&B.  Blueberry stuffed (aka, contaminated) french toast.  But even with the fruit contamination it was a very yummy breakfast.

11:00am - Clos du Bois winery in Geyserville.  Starting the morning off with a sampling of Rose wine.

1:20pm - Cuvaison winery in Napa (I think - we drove a lot today) with Sherry and Joel.  It was my turn to drink and Clair was going to take over driving duties.

1:30pm - The Cuvaison kitty - he was just chillin with the display bottles.

2:00pm - Rutherford Winery in Napa.  Killing time before our appointment at Neyer's Winery.  I loved the colorful bottles and the way they were displayed.  I would have take the photo from the side with the blues and greens, but there were a ton of people in this place and I took what I could get.  I still like how this turned out.

2:15pm - Still killing time for our 2:30pm appointment at Neyer's.  One of the men from the appointment before us came out to put some bottles in his car and asked if we all wanted a photo - so nice.  (L-R, Clair, Joel, Sherry, me).

2:30pm - Starting our private tour of Neyer's.  Mark and Dave joined us in Napa for this winery.  See the boxes on the lefthand side, the winery had bottled/boxed their Chardonney the day before and it was sitting there waiting to be shipping.  Each palette has a time on it for when the palette is finished - each palette was about 10 minutes apart.  Pretty amazing considering how many cases were on each palette and there are 12 bottles in each case.

3:00pm - A little bit of Chardoney and a little bit of Syrah.  I loved the shadows in this photo.

3:35pm - The whole group plus our purchases from Neyer's.  By the end of this appointment we were feeling so relaxed.  Not so much from the wine, although I'm sure that helped, but mainly from the atmosphere and just enjoying spending time chatting and laughing with friends.

8:45pm - Taking Clair home we decided to take the shortcut through the Presidio and were stopped dead in our tracks when we rounded the corner and saw this.  I'm so excited that we were able to pull over and get some shots. So beautiful and a really great way to end the trip.  Except for darkening the building and trees a bit, this is an "as is" shot - I love my camera.

Yeah, I remembered this month!  And I actually did some interesting stuff.  Whoo!  Enjoy and enjoy others from Chad's blog, the guy who started it all...

6:37am
The swimsuit I pulled out last night and left on my bedroom floor so I could just throw it on and swim for my morning workout.  But I got home so late last night that the moment my alarm went off I knew I wasn't going to be getting up and thus the swimsuit is still chilling on my carpet.  Maybe this weekend...

6:46am
I hate ironing.  This is a weird photo angle, but I like that you can see the steam coming off the iron.

7:12am
Small canyon road (one lane each direction) that I take every morning to the BART station.  Big slow down.  The truck in the middle is a tow truck taking away what's in the next photo...

7:13am
BIG wreck.  This is the second accident this week on this road.  It can be a dangerous, curvy road if you don't know what you're doing.  I think this road requires its own driver's test because there are so many idiots that just don't GET how to drive on a windy road.

11:50am
This is my friend and my worst enemy.  This is where I have stood most of this week.  Lovely.

12:52pm
Mmmm...Specialty's Cobb Sandwich.  This is my first lunch break this week.

12:52pm
Clair's a good friend for encouraging me to take my LAW REQUIRED lunch break.

1:15pm
We sat outside 425 Market and soaked up some sun.  It's a lovely little place in the FiDi.

7:59pm
Was going to stay at work for another hour, but Jason emailed that everyone was getting together to enjoy the weather and play Bocce ball in Dublin.  So I got on the 7:10pm train to head home and enjoy the last few minutes of sunshine.  Wait, I took the 7:40am train to work this morning....  grrrrr

8:00pm
Here's the sunshine.

8:03pm
And me enjoying it.

10:06pm
Ugh.  Luckily I don't have to fill up too often.

Good night!!

I almost forgot to do this!!  I stayed out late last night and woke up at 10am and then didn't think about photos until almost noon.  Hope that still counts.  Also, been sitting here talking with the roommate and it's almost midnight! Ack!!  Have to get this in NOW.   Enjoy...at least it's better than my last 12 of 12 where I was stuck in the office all day.  Yea! I got to see daylight!!

Check out the 12 of 12 site HERE

11:46am - Downloading the new Jackie Greene album I got at his concert Thursday night.

12:22pm - How do I look?

12:40pm - My sister Laura ,who came to pick me up to go to our parent's house and 'the Shelby dog.'  Yes, my room is a mess. And no, I do not make my bed.

12:41pm - Shelby's face after I said I was going "bye-bye" and that she'd have to "go outside."  I'd like to think she's saying, "Puh-LEASE don't leave me.  I'm so bored when you're not around."

1:14pm - We're in Pittsburg!  I love the hills.

1:51pm - My dad wanted lunch and so my sister and I went to get food at The Mecca in downtown Pittsburg.  This is where everyone in town goes after football games, it's where you get your food from if you need to cater a party, it's family owned and run and it's really some of the best Mexican food you'll ever have.  And if you don't like it, keep it to yourself, because it's damn good.  :-p

2:07pm - Waiting for my to-go order.  It's worth the wait, but they were very slow today.

2:25pm - Eating in the backyard with the folks.  Nice spread.

2:29pm - That's the chiquita special; beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice, beans and a salad.  Yum.

3:03pm - This is the other dog in my life - Casey Jones.  He's 1/2 German Shepherd, 1/2 monster.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

5:32pm - After visiting my Nani at the nursing home, laura and I stopped at Baskin Robbin's for some ice cream.  It was at least 85* today and I was in need of some cooling off.

9:05pm - Playing Guitar Hero III with Laura and Lyndsey (and Shelby).  I was totally kicking ass.

12 March 2008 @ 10:27 pm
I've decided to try a little blog project called 12 of 12.  Actually, i've been trying to do this for the last two months but kept forgetting.  You basically take 12 photos throughout your day, every month on the 12th.  Today wasn't particularly exciting.  In fact, as you'll see in a moment, I was stuck in the office all day.  Blah.  Enjoy.

5:15am:  Egh...too early.  But at least I was awoken by Sara Bareilles' "Love Song."  I don't care if the radio stations overplay it, I still love it.

6:36am:  Waiting at Castro Valley BART for a god-awful early train.  I'm about an hour early today because I needed to get into work before 8am.  And yes, it really was still that dark out.

7:28am:  Mmmm, my favorite breakfast.  Cinnamon swirl toast with OJ.  No raisins in the bread.  I hate raisins.  Why are people always trying to contaminate my food with healthy crap?

12:17pm:  I know, boring.  Two food shots in a row, but I was stuck in a meeting ALL morning and couldn't take any pictures in there, so the next exciting thing I did was have lunch while I covered the reception desk at work.  Those are my minutes notes from the three hour meeting...need to type them up.  Oh, and don't think that I went outside for that salad sampler from Suisse; i just had to go downstairs in my building.  My boss asked me to pick up something for her and to get something for myself.  That doesn't count against my Lenten promise, does it?

1:48pm:  In my other boss' office doing some work while he's out.  This is my first glimpse at daylight today.  Look, there was blue sky over the dreary bay!

5:05pm:  Since I didn't get a chance to go outside today or take a real break or meet up with Clair like we had planned, I decided to take two seconds and give you a photo of my cute-ass, red, Steve Madden skimmers.  So cute, they ALMOST brighten up my day.

6:02pm:  The boys in my office ordered some pizza and they let me have some since I still wasn't able to leave the office.  So healthy, but at least I got to eat something.

7:53pm:  Embarcadero BART station.  It kinda looks pretty with all those primary colors.  I don't get the Mini ad there.  Zig. Zag. Zig. Zag. ZUG.  What's a Zug?

8:37pm: Finally back at my car.  Oh look, it's dark again, just like when I parked it this morning.

8:43pm:  Halfway home and noticed this; I'm at 42,000 miles?  I bought this car a little more than a year ago and I think it had 35,000 miles on it.  Can that be right?  I've driven 7,000 miles when I only drive about 16 miles a day?  Hmmm

9:08pm: Finally home.  I figured it would be nice to have at least one photo of a person in one of these shots.  I don't look as tired as I feel.

10:08pm:  Trying to pack for Telluride.  Wow, I'm such a girl...too much stuff.  Car service will be here at 4am.  Sigh.  I guess I can sleep on the plane.
