Welcome to September's edition - check out Chad's blog for more twelvers.

It's an all college football 12 of 12 this month.  Go CAL Bears!

10:44am - Obligatory shot of Shelby.  She looks all emo because she knows I'm leaving. This is her watching me put my shoes on and get my purse together.

10:45am:  Making sure I have my tickets to the game.  UCB Bears vs East Washington Eagles.  Whoo!

12:32pm - Outside the student center.  The CAL drumline usually gathers first to perform for the crowds at the Bear's Lair.  I love how they line up their hats on the ground during their performance.

12:39pm - This is my friend Cory. It's his first CAL game.  That's my hat. The photo wasn't staged or anything.

12:40pm - I was just shooting whatever inside the campus pub while we waited for our hot dogs and fries, but I ended up kinda liking this shot.

1:57pm - Finally up at Memorial Stadium.

2:21pm - As a bandgeek, THIS is my most favorite part of going to the CAL games.  The band enters with so much energy and then you get the canon blast there in the middle and they quick step out into a "flying" wedge and the drum major runs out and leap-frogs over one of the band members at the front and then they start playing Big C.  It's soooo exciting!

2:24pm - The tubas are such hams.

2:34pm - Bears in the mist.

3:03pm - My season tickets some how landed me right, smack dab in the middle of a bunch of families with kids under 10.  The little girl next to us had the cutest little galoshes on.

5:36pm - Final score.  Cory said early on in the game, "These Eagles aren't welcome at Hotel California, are they?"  It's jokes like that one that make me keep Cory around.  Great rout. Can't wait to see our ranking next week!

5:39pm - Cory and me waiting for the stadium to clear...who am I kidding, I was waiting so I could watch the band's post-game show.

Is anyone else shocked that it's September?  Just wondering.

Finally home after a very long, fun-filled day. After the bears won 37-16 and I got to see my first ever Axe exchange, I meandered my way down to bart, got to my car and drove into the city for the annual St Dominic's contemporary choir pre-Thanksgiving dinner party. Everyone is required to bring something they've never made before. I made truffles and they were delicious (kept them in a cooler of ice in my trunk while I was at the game). All the dishes were good - and after three years we haven't had a bad one yet. It was super fun to see everyone, but I was so drained from the game and my earlier partying that I decided to NOT go to the Rocky Horror cast party down in Brisbane, and instead I drove back home and am now laying in my bed about to shut off the light. I'm so tired. So full. So happy.

Good night

End of the 3rd and we're holding strong at 30-3 against stumpford.

But could someone please remind Riley that when he's in trouble he needs to throw the ball away, spike it, DO SOMETHING!

Go bears!!!!

10 - 3 bears against the random color.
Still sitting in our wrong seats...knock on wood

Really helpful to bring jello shots and beer into the game. Gotta love student security.

Meaning, I squeezed in with friends sitting also not in their seats. I'm sure we'll have to move again.

Right now - bears 3, stupid trees 0 in the 2nd quarter

Because I'm tired.
Exhausted, actually.  Can someone please tell me why I can't seem to get enough sleep lately??

I have many, many things I need to get done today and so far I've just had breakfast, answered some emails and thrown in a load of laundry.  Need to go by the dry cleaners/alterations before they close at 5pm.  Need to go by Target, swing by the grocery store and I was hoping to hit up the GAP today because I have a friends & family coupon burning a hole in my purse.  I need to call people back, but really don't feel like talking to anyone; this could possibly be that I had to talk to so many people yesterday and will have to do it again tonight.  At least tonight is the finally night for Rocky Horror Show and then I'll have my weekends back.  Oh yeah, so I need to get up so I can get to the show.  Sigh.

And CAL isn't winning. They aren't doing well at all.

Talked myself out of going to the CAL game today vs. the Ducks. Four hours of sleep, exhausted from the whole week AND the torrential downpour in the East Bay at the moment started to outweigh my desire to watch a kick-ass game of football. I love rainy games. Turnovers, spectacular touchdowns mixed in with slippery runs and spills. It's so exciting.

I'm so lame. I know it. But at least I'm dry, warm, comfy in my pjs. I've got a pot pie in the microwave and a puppy sleeping nearby. It's not so bad to be lame.

NOTE: Halloween was awesome, but I will be reminding myself of how difficult it is to get in, out and around the city on nights like last night before I try to do Halloween in the City again. Photos from the show and wedding shortly.

Couldn't get anyone to take my extra Cal ticket for the game vs UCLA today, so I just went by myself. I can't find the friends I usually sit with, so I'm in this big empty row by myself. I know they'll show up eventually, but for the next 28 minutes I'm all alone. Kinda feel like a loser.

That's it - I'm treating myself to some dibs!

When I was in high school and in the Pittsburg HS Marching Shooooow Band, I often sat through wet, miserable football games. It would be cold, windy and I was in a wool uniform with an orange plum made of ostrich feathers molting on my hat.
I sat through many of these games during my four years at Pitt, plus at least a couple of years prior to high school when iused to go see laura in the band.
Well, I have never before been as wet or cold before as I was today. It rained non stop from noon when I got off of Bart in Berkeley and it was still down pouring when I got to Bart at 9pm. Granted, its been a little dry this fall, and it was pretty dry last spring, so rain is a good thing, but WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm WET damnit!!!

Oh yeah, and we lost. Longshore is the biggest disapointment I've ever seen. Boo

T-minus 6 hours until the pre-game party my company is hosting and I organized. I'm excited, but I also have a huge knot in my stomach. I just keep trying to tell myself that everything is going to be fine and everyone's going to have a blast.
T-minus 9 hours until game time. Well, at least I know for sure that the band will look good.

COME ON BEARS! LET'S DO THIS!!
